Mike grew up in Taylorville, IL, a small town outside of Springfield. He began his career in Peoria, IL, with Cromwell Radio Group, before being recruited to Jacksonville in 2001 as an account manager with Cox Radio Group. An early adopter of integrated marketing, promotion and public relations strategies, he left Cox in late 2002 to start Client Focused Media (CFM). In 2006 he started BUZZ Media group and then subsequently Buzzworthy Events and BluHorn Media Buying Software. In 2021, BluHorn was acquired by Simpli.fi, an omnichannel company headquartered in Ft. Worth,Texas.
Mike’s personal vision for working with others to improve and build a vibrant community is reflected in the teams and companies he has built as well as the organizations he serves with. Mike, an Eagle Scout, continues his relationship and support for the Boy Scouts of America, serving on the Executive Board and on the Executive Committee as Vice President of Finance as well as serves as a charter member and Cubmaster of Pack 444 in Jax Golf and Country Club. Mike is a past board member of many great organizations including Hands on Jacksonville, The Greater Jacksonville USO, Meninak, Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce Board of Governors, The Southside Business Men’s Club, and The University Club Governing Board.
Mike is a graduate of Leadership Jacksonville’s Class of 2011 and currently serves on the Synovus Bank Advisory Board. Mike prides himself on being a family-focused and community-driven father of three. He enjoys creating and executing ambitious ideas to build business, create engagement and drive results.
